This blog began with the wildflower blooming season in 2010. I post randomly-whenever we get out to look at flowers. I am located in Jefferson County, Colorado, and that is primarily where the information for this blog originates. Thanks to my three dogs who need long daily walks and who like to explore all our area parks. Without them, I wouldn't get out as often.

Gayfeather (Liatris punctata)
Mullein (Verbascum thapsus)
It's mid-July and the flowers are fading with the heat. I saw gayfeather (Liatris punctata) and mullein (Verbascum thapsus) blooming this morning on Rattlesnake Ridge. Maybe I should change the name of this area to Bullsnake Ridge because I saw a dead on on the street adjacent to the ridge.
